Sister Kenny Foundation Hires New Executive Director

Sandy Landberg, Sister Kenny Foundation Executive Director Sandy Landberg, a Minnesota native with extensive experience leading philanthropic organizations in the Twin Cities, has joined the Sister Kenny Foundation as its new executive director.

Landberg joins the foundation after serving as the director of development for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota, where she played a key role in raising philanthropic support for pediatric research and education. Prior to that, she was director of annual giving at the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics Foundation. She began her career at the Children’s Home Society of Minnesota after graduating from the University of Minnesota.

“I am very happy that Sandy has joined the Sister Kenny Foundation team,” said M. Patricia Hoven, chair of the Sister Kenny Foundation Board of Directors. “Her enthusiasm and wonderful past experience with fund raising in a medical arena will serve the Foundation well.”

The Sister Kenny Foundation raises philanthropic support for the Sister Kenny® Rehabilitation Institute, which offers rehabilitative services at five Allina hospitals--Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis, United in St. Paul, Unity in Fridley, Mercy in Coon Rapids and Buffalo Hospital in Buffalo. Outpatient care is provided at community-based Sister Kenny Sports & Physical Therapy Centers.

“I am excited by the opportunity to advance philanthropic support of the Sister Kenny Foundation,” said Landberg. “I believe in the Institution’s mission of making lives work, and I look forward to helping make a difference for the more than 70,000 patients who are treated at the Institute each year.”
